Quantifying Liquid-Solid Mass Transfer in a Trickle Bed Using $${T}_{2}-{T}_{2}$$ Relaxation Exchange NMR

چکیده

Abstract Measurement of the liquid-solid mass transfer coefficient within a trickle bed (i.e. gas-liquid flow packed bed) porous silica pellets is achieved through use $${T}_{2}-{T}_{2}$$ T 2 - relaxation exchange nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Compared to many conventional measurement techniques, NMR method enables transport using real commercial interest. Mass coefficients measured technique over range liquid Reynolds number, 0.2 $$\le R{e}_{\mathrm{L}}\le $$ ≤ R e L 1.4, are compared number literature correlations, with values falling predicted by correlations. The results demonstrate importance considering both conditions and type used develop correlations in beds. This novel application may be utilized future screen catalyst beds for optimal properties.

Bed Voidage and Heat Transfer in Non-Newtonian Liquid-Solid Fluidized Bed

The presence of particles in liquid-solid fluidized beds enhances the bed heat transfer, because the movement of the particles leads to an increased turbulence in the system. Moreover, the violent movement of the particles has a positive effect on fouling of the heat transfer surface. The aim of this investigation was to perform systematic measurements of bed voidage and heat transfer coeff...

Experimental Analysis and Evaluation of the Mass Transfer Process in a Trickle-bed Reactor

A transient experimental analysis of a three-phase descendent-cocurrent trickle-bed H2O/CH4Ar/γ-Al2O3 system was made using the stimulus-response technique, with the gas phase as a reference. Methane was used as a tracer and injected into the argon feed and the concentration vs time profiles were obtained at the entrance and exit of the bed, which were maintained at 298K and 1.013 10 Pa. A math...

Study on Mass Transfer Enhancement in a Gas-Liquid System Using Nanomaterials

The main objective of this paper is to examine the effect of nanomaterials on mass transfer coefficient in bubble type absorption of carbon dioxide by experiment. The absorption process is carried out in a bubble column and in room temperature. Mass transfer coefficient, saturated concentration of CO2, and gas holdup are determined in this system. The kinds of nanomaterials, the concentrations ...
